GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. -- A suspected drug dealer from Detroit was arrested Wednesday night at a motel in Russell, police say.

Christopher Lamont Brown Jr., 20, of Detroit, was arrested by FADE Drug Task Force officers taken to the Greenup County Detention Center on drug charges.

Raceland Police officers, with the assistance of their newly trained K-9 unit, found prescription pills and cash in Brown's hotel room.

"People know what a drug dog can do. You know they're aware of their training, so it puts that damper on drugs coming through the area," Raceland Police Officer Eric Ross said.
