HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- All the complaints regarding the city of Huntington’s plans to implement a fee to pay for repairs to stormwater infrastructure were heard loud and clear, and that plan has been taken off the table.

City council voted unanimously Tuesday night to indefinitely postpone that plan. The fee would have charged residents and businesses a fee based on the size of their property.

Mayor Steve Williams says it had unintended consequences that would have hurt recruitment of business.
