$10,000 Raised at Local Arby’s Restaurants to be Reinvested Throughout the Tri-State

Arby’s Foundation to allocate 50% of proceeds from national Make A Difference fundraiser to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State

CHARLESTON, WV– As part of the Arby’s Foundation annual Make a Difference Campaign, Arby’s restaurants across the country raised nearly $6M to support national organizations dedicated to providing kids the future they deserve. This year, for the first time ever, half of the funds raised ($2.88M) will be reinvested locally in communities across America.

The local Arby’s Co-op of Charleston-Huntington, WV has donated $10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State to help support the organization’s mission.

For more than 40 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State has provided a variety of programs for children facing adversity in order to best prepare them for a lifetime of success. Each year approximately 150 children are served through one-on-one mentorship and partnering programs.

“Ensuring all children have the opportunity to dream big and pursue their goals with confidence is critical in solidifying the future of our next generation,” local Arby’s Charleston-Huntington Co-Op president, John Wade said. “We want to make sure that every child in our community, and every community, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”

Today, members of the Arby’s Charleston-Huntington Co-op visited Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State to present them a check for $10,000. In addition to the monetary donation, Arby’s restaurants throughout the Co-op provide special benefits for all Big Brothers Big Sisters “Bigs” and “Littles”.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State is very appreciative to receive this grant from the Arby’s Foundation,” Executive Director at BBBS of the Tri-State Patti Price said. “Arby’s is a corporate partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and raises millions of dollars for local agencies. We are very pleased to have this support in our Tri-State area.”

The remaining funds will be granted to Arby’s Foundation national non-profit partners – Big Brothers Big Sisters, No Kid Hungry and Junior Achievement (3DE) to support programs around childhood hunger, youth leadership and career readiness.

“Only through actions do words take meaning and “making a difference” is not only a core value but a commitment to serve the community,” Director of Operations for local franchisee organization AES Group Michelle Carter said. “I am honored to support such a worthy cause to support children and invest in their future.”
