The southbound lanes of U.S. 23 are shut down near the Kentucky Power Plant in Lawrence County.
A pickup truck driver told a WSAZ photographer that he was traveling north on U.S. 23 on his way to work when he fell asleep.
The truck crossed the median and landed on its top in the southbound lanes.
The driver received bumps to his head but didn't require medical treatment.
No word yet on when the southbound lanes of U.S. 23 will reopen.
Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies and Fallsburg Volunteer Fire Department are working the scene.
