LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man has plead guilty to attempted murder in a shovel attack against a woman.
Marvin Sexton, of Chesapeake, plead guilty to the charge Friday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
Deputies say they responded to a home in Chesapeake on November 3 where they found a woman who was assaulted with a shovel.
She was taken to an area hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
A family member who lives in the house identified Sexton as the person who assaulted the woman.
Sexton is scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
