A man accused of shooting a West Virginia state trooper has been taken into custody.
State Police say a robot was sent into the apartment on Midway Road where the suspect was hiding and made contact with him. The suspect then surrendered and was taken into custody.
Investigators say he will be taken to a WVSP detachment to be processed.
State Police say the trooper was shot in the shoulder, hand and leg. He was taken to the hospital and is undergoing surgery. WVSP says his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening but his condition remains unknown.
The trooper's name has not yet been released.
