A series of wrecks at the intersection have Chesapeake police warning drivers of stricter enforcement of the speed limit.
The following statement accompanied the video & Facebook post:
"Due to constant speed related accidents, we will be STRICTLY enforcing the 25 miles per hour speed limit from the bypass to the intersection at 3rd Avenue and onto the bridge. So far the majority of accidents have been non-injury accidents but its just a matter of time before a bad injury accident occurs. I have contacted the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Lawrence County Sheriffs Office to help with this speed enforcement initiative in the best interest of the safety of the public. Respectfully, Chief R. Lewis
