LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A woman has been reported missing after she sent a message to her mother asking the mom to "call the police, save me."

Mary "Katie" Frye, 33, of South Point, has been reported missing and her mother believes she is in some kind of danger.

According to an incident report, the mother told deputies her daughter left earlier in the day to go to a bonfire.

The mother then showed deputies a message sent to her from her daughter's phone that stated she was at an address and to call the police and save her.

The mother then tried to contact her daughter, but was unsuccessful.

The mother then contacted law enforcement in Wayne County, W.Va. who checked the address given to the mother and found it did not exist.

Deputies in Lawrence County did a welfare check at Katie's home in South Point and didn't find anyone at the home.

The mother told deputies the one time she spoke with her daughter over the phone, she sounded intoxicated or drugged.
