Chris Baldridge said Trump made the offer during a phone call after the death of his 22-year-old son in Afghanistan in June. He told the paper the money never arrived. A White House spokeswoman said yesterday the check has been sent and accused the media of using the "generous and sincere gesture" to advance their "biased agenda."
It's the latest incident involving the President's response to families who have lost loved ones in military service.
