Two shot, child injured, suspect on the run in Cabell County

A man and a woman were shot in Barboursville early Wednesday morning, and a child was injured.

It happened just before 3:50 at a house on Williamsburg Dr.

Cabell County Sheriff Zerkle tells WSAZ the suspect, Jeremy Bartram, and his ex-girlfriend share a child together.

Sheriff Zerkle says Bartram's ex-girlfriend and the child live in the house that Bartram shot into.

Zerkle says Bartram shot his ex-girlfriend's mother, Vicky Emerick, and her son, Casey Emerick.

Casey was shot several times and is in serious condition, according to the sheriff.

Sheriff Zerkle also tells us a 7-year-old child was hit by shrapnel.

Zerkle say Bartram's ex-girlfriend works at Cabell Huntington Hospital, and that the hospital is on lockdown.

Deputies believe she was the target, but she had left for work by the time Bartram arrived.

Sheriff Zerkle says five children were in the house at the time of the shooting.

Bartram's truck was found on 4-H Camp Road, but deputies could not find him.

Sheriff Zerkle says Bartram shot through a bedroom wiindow multiple times, then went to another window, busted it out, and shot through that window.

K-9 units are out right now trying to track Bartram down.
