A 21-year-old Navy sailor, Angelina Petra Resendiz, has been missing since last Thursday (May 29) from Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia. Resendiz, a culinary specialist on the USS James E. Williams, was last seen at her barracks in Miller Hall around 10 a.m. that day. Her disappearance has prompted a "critically missing adult alert" from the Virginia State Police.

Resendiz is described as a white/Hispanic female, standing 5 feet tall, weighing 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. According to her mother, Esmeralda Castle, who resides in Texas, Resendiz is known for her daily communication with family and friends. "Her and my sister have a 400-day streak on Snapchat," Castle said, highlighting her daughter's consistent contact with loved ones.

Concern arose when Resendiz missed work and failed to communicate with her family, which was unusual for her. "She just stopped existing Thursday. She’s spent no money, made no calls. She just stopped. She disappeared," Castle explained to WVEC.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and local authorities are actively investigating her disappearance. NCIS has urged anyone with information to contact them at 877-579-3648.
