It’s Raining... Iguanas?

According to FOX 5, Miami’s National Weather Service released a statement on Twitter warning locals to expect a sprinkling of immobilized iguanas from treetops as temperatures continue to drop.

Within the last few years, this phenomenon has apparently become a regular occurrence during the winter, so as a reminder to all Miami locals, if a random iguana falls from the sky - fear not, they are not dead.

Iguanas are cold blooded reptiles, so when there is a lack of heat, they enter a stunned state.

Until the warm weather returns, keep an eye out for these critters, they have been known to cause quite a bit of damage from their falls and while in their active state.
