Hurricane Watch Issued For Louisiana

Hurricane Season Sign With Stormy Background

Louisiana is on high alert with rain pummeling the region and now the threat of a hurricane. Six to seven inches of rain fell on New Orleans yesterday, setting off a flash flood emergency. The city is getting even more rainfall this afternoon.  Adding to the misery, the National Weather Service says Tropical Storm Barry is expected to make landfall in Louisiana on Saturday and has the potential to become a dangerous hurricane. There are worries the Mississippi River could breach levies in and around New Orleans.
